My Cat Is Offended

 My older cat was declawed by the idiots who previously owned him. So he doesn’t like to do a lot with his paws if he can help it - he’s really mouthy when it comes to interactions. If he thinks I’m not paying him enough attention, for example, where most of my other cats might have started pawing at me, he’ll give me a light nip or, if that doesn’t get results, literally try to pick my hand up in his mouth and maneuver it where he can rub against it.

So I was typing just now, and he was feeling neglected, but the angle of my laptop meant there was nothing within easy reach. Except my elbow. Which doesn’t have enough loose skin for a proper nip. So he decided it would need to be option 2. So he kept opening his mouth wider and wider, trying to get it around my elbow. He managed (because his human is a fairly petite example of the species and he is quite a large cat), but then just sat there with this knob of bone and skin just baaaaarely between his gaping jaws, looking like he was doing a slightly desperate impression of a feeding python.

I start giggling like an idiot, because this is SO undercutting his geriatric feline dignity. And oh, the look he gave me.

“First you ignore me, now you mock me? BITCH!”

He’s now sulking in the laundry basket. XD
